Very popular in Europe, it isn’t well known in North America of which the rigid hull inflatable boat can be used for various leisure activities.  It can be equipped with outboard or inboard engines and handle heavy seas and operate in 45 knots of wind.  The Navy limits its use to 34 knots.  Its design is a V shaped fiberglass hull and inflatable tubes around the collar.
